Dear colleagues,

On behalf of the Growth Hormone Research Society and the IGF Society, it is our pleasure to invite you to attend the 6th International Congress of our societies held in Munich, Germany, October 17 to 20, 2012.

After the great success of the previous meetings of our societies we expect the Munich congress to be this year’s prime event in the area of growth hormone and IGF research, providing the latest information in cutting edge research ranging from basic science to clinical research and practice.

The Scientific Program will include educational and scientific sessions covering key issues in GH and IGF research. Outstanding internationally recognized experts in the field have accepted the invitation of the Program Organizing Committee to contribute plenary lectures. A total of 13 plenary lectures and about 60 oral communications selected from the abstracts submitted, will be completed by a poster exhibition with guided tours. Finally, there will be the opportunity to submit late breaking abstracts reporting latest study data which will be included in a hot topic session.

New this year is the inclusion of two review lectures entitled “Two years in GH” by Prof. Ken Ho and “Two years in IGF” by Prof. Ron Rosenfeld which will highlight advances made since the last congress. Furthermore, our congress for the first time will also present a plenary lecture on prolactin (Prof. Vincent Goffin). The congress will represent a splendid opportunity not only to meet the world’s leading experts in the field of GH and IGF research, but also to present your own studies.

The city of Munich is the capital of the county Bavaria. Its unique location near the Bavarian Alps and the numerous lakes which are situated on the outskirts of Munich make it one of the most attractive touristic destinations in Germany. Especially known for its culinary and cultural diversity, there are various places and corners in the city which can be discovered during a stay in Munich. Two highly recognized universities, the Ludwig-Maximilians University (LMU) and the Technical University Munich (TUM), make Munich also a capital of scientific research and therefore a perfect location to host the 6th International Congress of the GRS and IGF Society.
